The shocking news of the demise of one of IPI Nigeria’s committed member, former APC Chieftain and Senior Journalist Tunde Oladunjoye broke on Saturday evening 6th April, 2025 on the IPI Nigeria Members Platform, officially announced by the president Mojeed Musikilu.
The statement reads:
Dear IPI Nigeria members,
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Alhaji Tunde Oladunjoye, one of our most dedicated and committed members. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
We will miss his contributions and dedication to the principles of press freedom and independent journalism.
May he rest in peace.

Condolences and prayers were mournfully poured out by most of the members on the platform, praying for the repose of his soul and comfort for the rest of his family.
Prior to this announcement, Alhaji Oladunjoye had been ill and being treated in his last days in the UK where he was confirmed dead.
Condolence messages by Veteran Journalists kept pouring in on the platform all weekend.
Olufunke Fadugba said: “A philanthropist, and lover of journalism. He kept ascribing his achievements to journalism. May God rest his soul”
Abdulwaheed Odusile wrote: “A big loss. May Almighty Allah(SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaus. Amen”
Tony Manuaka: “Sad News! May Tunde’s soul rest in peace.
IPI Nigeria’s BoT member, Veteran Journalist/ Publisher Chief Olamiti Folu Lawrence said: “It is with sadness I am sharing this. He was one of my dearest aburos. May his soul find eternal rest”
Meanwhile, the details of his burial and other internment activities are still unknown as at the time of filing in this report, more details will be updated as soon as it is made available to the public by his family.
